In this 4-part series, Zion’s Hope Bible teacher Bob Hope investigates the varied ways in which God has communicated with the human race over time. Because He is a personal and relational God, God desires to dwell with His people and make Himself known to them.

God first began communicating with people by simple, clear and logical language. In time, however, He expanded His method of communication to walking with us, appearing to us, giving us visions and dreams, and sometimes even wrestling with us!

During God’s early communication with individuals, He did so as El Shaddai – God Almighty. However, when He was ready to gather an entire people to Himself, He communicated as Yahweh – the self-existent, eternal One.
